Our scientists made over 50 new discoveries about dementia in 2016/17
Our scientists contributed to more than 50 new discoveries between September 2017 and March 2018.
These included uncovering new information about how a person’s genetic make-up could be used to assess their risk of developing early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and identifying changes in blood samples of people with Alzheimer’s that could be used to improve diagnosis in future.
Each new finding helps to build a more complete picture of the diseases that drive dementia, paving the way for new diagnostic tests, preventions and treatments.
